Daughters of Norway Convention 2012 Logo - Unlimited Possibitlities

Time to save the date for the upcoming 2012 Daughters of Norway Convention in beautiful Bellingham, WA. The host lodge, Nellie Gerdrum Lodge #41, has planned a wonderful time for all.

On Wednesday, July 18th members will begin arriving while the Grand Lodge Board holds its meeting. A walking tour of Historic Fairhaven is available (pre-registration required). On the 19th, Thursday, registration; membership meeting; classes; cultural day sales;exhibits; demonstrations; and activities begin. That evening, a special dinner-theatre program with the award winning Ellen Snortland's Now That She's Gone is available (pre-registration required). The play is about growing up in North Dakota with a Norwegian- American mother. Friday, includes a business meeting, a president's tea, and a delightful dinner with the dynamic comedy duo from Minnesota Tina and Lena entertaining all. Saturday, the 21st, is the last business meeting day followed by a closing banquet and program sure to please all.

For hotel reservations you must call 888-671-1011 or 360-671-1011 and remind them you are with the Daughters of Norway Convention 2012 group and desire convention rates. If anyone has booked a room directly online, they still have a chance to call and change the room to convention rates. You will not get the rate if you do not call them with the change. Most members book to arrive on either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning with departure on Sunday, July 22nd so they can enjoy the farewell banquet on Saturday evening. Note, the host lodge has secured special extension deals so you can extend your stay (see the Convention 2012 Cover Letter link at left for additional details).
